Welcome to Sol Hollow Farm & Studio!

Sol Hollow Studio, located between Martinsburg and Shepherdstown, West Virginia, is a fully operational production pottery plus teaching facility. We welcome potters of all experience levels with "try-it" style single classes, six-week class sessions, and a fully equipped, 24/7 access, membership studio. Our class focus is primarily the potter's wheel, but we do incorporate hand-building techniques into the six-week series. Whether you're a hobbyist potter or just searching for something to do, our classes are the perfect stepping stones if you're looking for just a simple experience in clay, or if you're wanting a home-base membership studio - we guide you every step of the way.

With our own, in-house, retail "store-by-the-door," we offer ceramics from the local WV potters who make their home with us in the studio. At this time, we've eight studio potters selling a variety of functional wares such as mugs and plates, and wall hanging art and tiles. Our members also have their wares available for purchase at Good Natured Market & Vegetarian Cafe and Apple Annie's Cookie Bakery in Martinsburg WV, Explore Art & Clay in Front Royal VA, and Lost River Trading Post in Wardensville WV.

We're very a much a dog family. Our pup, Lola, is often in the studio with us. If you need a dog-free environment, let us know when you book your class. We have a mix of belt driven, and magnet driven wheels, please let us know if you need to be away from magnets. Clay results in dust, and we do our best to keep levels down, but if you've a medical condition that makes you susceptible to silica dust, please consult your doctor before booking your class. Likewise, if you're pregnant, please consult your doctor prior to scheduling with us.
